Our forefathers, the worshippers of Drakon had settled on the cliffs of Illatian, with only ancient legends backing up their insane ideas of magical creatures such as dragons.
Avoiding the arcane, iron and crystal structures that seemed to have been slowly consumed by the mountains themselves, the cult had settled in the valley beneath, crafting stone temples and castles from the same mountains nearby.
Centuries had passed, until one day the cult started digging into the metallic core of the mountains. What they had discovered was their god himself.
An actual, living dragon arose from the ruins and we bowed down before him. His metallic skin glistened in the sun as he spread out his majestic wings and twisted its 2 ugly, round heads in our direction.
Not many were left alive to tell the tale. The survivors fled from the dig, but they could not escape his wrath. All those sacrifices and statues, all those worshippers and temples didn’t please him…
Too late did we learn that it was not our omnipotent, kind god, but a demon of death and fire…
Its screeching voice of metal, scarping against metal drowned out all sound.
Its relentless hate for all the living had become apparent as it burned down everything where it had felt life, especially ours. Some called it the day of our judgement. They perished quickly in the undying fire.
T’was most unfortunate that we were all out of dragon slayers…
